Quiet Man - Quiet Man
HE WAS A QUIET MAN, opening in limited release on November 30, 2007, is a darkly humorous plunge into the life of a put-upon office drone who harbors thoughts of killing his co-workers, but never has the courage to pull the trigger. On one fateful afternoon, Bob Maconel (Christian Slater) crosses the line from potential killer to inadvertent hero when he saves beautiful Venessa (Elisha Cuthbert) from another man's bullet. His Boss (William H. Macy) transforms Bob into an executive, but his good fortune is short-lived when the object of his desire asks him to end her life. Reflecting the latest statistics that one employee is killed and 25 are seriously injured every week in office-related violence, HE WAS A QUIET MAN takes us into the warped minds of a potential-killer-turned-hero and the corporate co-workers that push him to the edge.

“I wanted to take the insanity of corporate America and the frustration of its workers and put a human face on the inner thoughts and feelings of the people that inhabit that world,” says writer/director/producer Frank Cappello. “Christian gives the performance of his life as a man-on-the-edge who is ready to implode and instead, finds happiness. Elisha is breathtaking in an extremely difficult role both physically and emotionally, and Macy’s performance is, as always, nuanced and impeccable as the cut-throat corporate executive.”

Winning several directing, cinematography and best-picture awards at festivals throughout the country, HE WAS A QUIET MAN is making its debut on the big screen in limited release on November 30, 2007 in Los Angeles and New York, with other cities being added to the schedule soon. (Running time: 95 Minutes.)
