An Estimated 16 Million Baby Boomers
Suffer From Some Form of Hearing Loss!
ClearSounds®
Products Are Cool, Stylish, Affordable and Functional.
Hear Conversations, Music and Television Better!
You don't have to wear a bulky hearing aid to hear how good life can be!
ClearSounds gets it. As we age, things droop, hair grows in strange places, we can't read a menu to save our life, some of our teeth are store-bought - and we can't hear as well as we once did. Whether it's because of attending too many blaring music concerts, working around jet aircraft or tanks in the military service, motorcycle riding, or stock trading on the floor of the NYSE, Boomers have become the generation suffering from the most hearing loss ever. ClearSounds knows that there are times that hearing conversations can be a tricky proposition, music's a little muffled and we have to turn the television volume loud enough to wake the dead. That's why they have an entire line of easy-to-use telephones, listening systems, accessories and the coolest alarm clock ever designed since Elvis rocked The Ed Sullivan Show, or Sonny met Cher, or Lola Falana played Vegas.
"Nothing makes a Baby Boomer feel older than being left out of a conversation or missing a line of dialogue in your favorite television program because you can't hear," says Michele Ahlman, president of ClearSounds Communications. "That's why we created an entire product line that can help you remain 'plugged in' to your life. All of our products are so stylish, that your kids and grandkids will want them just because they look so cool!" ClearSounds knows that many Boomers suffer in silence because of vanity. No one wants to look and feel like a old fogie with large, cumbersome contraptions all over the place. Their products are sleek, compact and won't cost a house payment to own. (See attached product photos below.)
ClearSounds phones look and work just like any other phone - with a couple of major improvements. First, not only can you adjust the volume on the phones, but you can adjust the tone, as well. It works similarly to your stereo where you can increase the bass or treble to improve your listening experience. These phones allow you to alter your incoming phone conversation much the same way. Second, they also have some safety features built-in to the phones themselves. On some models, you can pre-program up to six emergency numbers and, with the touch of a button on a wrist band, summon help, should you need it!
ClearSounds also has cell phone accessories that stop that annoying feedback from hearing aids; an amplified phone ring signaler so you can actually tell when someone is calling; the Sound Wizard II that is hand-held and compact so you can hear conversations while on the golf course or playing cards; and the T.V. Ears that let you listen to television at a volume comfortable just for you.

ClearSounds® PARTNERS WITH CTAP!
New Telephone Technology for Hearing Loss Free in California!
BEST AMPLIFIED TELEPHONE IN THE WORLD FOR CA RESIDENTS
The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has taken a major step forward to help California residents who have difficulties using the telephone due to hearing loss, low vision or mobility problems. In a ground-breaking decision in June of this year, the CPUC contracted to add the ClearSounds CSC50 telephone -- the best amplified telephone in the world -- to the California Telephone Access Program or CTAP. CTAP is a State-mandated program that distributes free specialized telephones to CA residents who have difficulty using the telephone. Call CTAP at 800-806-1191 for information on this program and how to receive the ClearSounds CSC50 or go to www.clearsounds.com for additional product information.
PHENOMENAL TELEPHONE
The CSC50 telephone is a major breakthrough for California residents. For nearly 10 years CTAP has been restricted to distributing old, outdated telephone technology. The CSC50 far surpasses any telephone technology available in the past.
According to Olga Herzig an active 90 year-old with a hearing loss who received her CSC50 from an Illinois program similar to CTAP, "It is like a miracle. I have never heard my great-grandchildren so well. I did not know what I was missing." Olga knows nothing of technology; she simply needed a phone that she could plug in and instantly help her hear and understand her great-grandchildren. Lynn Toschi, however, is at the other end of the technology spectrum.
Lynn Toschi is profoundly hard of hearing. She uses a cochlear implant in one ear, and has very limited hearing in the other. She is a past member of the CTAP Advisory Board representing hard-of-hearing people in the State. After using the phone, she reported, "Wow! The CSC50 is wonderful. So many options for amplification and clarity! I am using my neckloop with my T-coil on the side that has the CI, and using the receiver on the other ear that still has a little hearing. This phone is absolutely fantastic with how much clarity and amplification it can provide. I also like seeing whose call I missed when I've been away from home on the Caller-ID. Thank you so much for letting me use the phone. I have just been using it for a few weeks, so I am sure I will learn even more of the features as I go. Again, thanks so much. This is amazing."
Lynn uses the incredible technology and flexibility of the phone to meet her very special hearing needs. She simultaneously uses a neckloop with her cochlear implant in one ear, and with the other ear, she uses the amplified handset with the sound shaping set. Thus Lynn sends understandable sound into both ears. Studies have shown that hearing in both ears can increase her understandable speech by over 50%. For Lynn, this is really "WOW!" technology. This phone works wonders for 90 year-old great-grandmothers who have no technology skills and for people like Lynn with profound hearing loss who maximize the available technology to its greatest advantage -- and for everyone in between.
For all California residents, the new technology can truly make a difference. Congratulations to the CPUC for moving technology forward for the benefit of all Californians. The ClearSounds CSC50 does what its name indicates. It makes the "sounds" of a telephone conversation "clear" and understandable. They are clear sounds.
WIDESPREAD CONDITION
Hearing loss is more widespread than most people think. It literally sneaks up on people as a part of life. Hearing loss now affects over 35 million people in the US and is rapidly increasing as the population ages. One of three people over 60 has significant hearing loss. Hearing loss is nothing to hide; it is simply part of the aging process; it just happens; it is part of being alive. It can, however, also be caused by extended periods of loud noise, certain drug therapies, and family genetics. It is an easily treatable condition once it is recognized and the CPUC is doing its part to help.
LIFE-ALTERING CONDITION NOT LIFE-THREATENING
Hearing loss is not a life-threatening condition but it is certainly life-altering and can become very debilitating, particularly for seniors. The warmth of the human experience and social interaction depends almost completely upon our ability to hear and communicate with other people. It is our ability to communicate ideas, emotions, wants, feelings and needs to other people that makes us different from animals. In today's society, the telephone is critical. Without access to and the ability to hear and understand telephone conversations, many people become isolated, depressed and have their safety put in jeopardy. Studies by the National Council on Aging have shown that untreated hearing loss can lead to much more serious medical conditions.
HELP FOR MORE THAN HEARING LOSS
The Americans for Better Hearing Foundation is particularly pleased with the CPUC's decision to add the CSC50 to CTAP. People often have multiple disabilities. Low vision and hearing loss are highly correlated conditions later in life. The CSC50 helps people cope with a number of physical conditions in addition to hearing loss. The CSC50 has a large, backlit keypad, a large visual display for Caller ID, and a very bright strobe ring indicator to help people with low vision and hearing loss. There is a built in amplified speaker phone for people with mobility problems and a setting to amplify outgoing voice for people with weak speech. There is also an option to have a tactile ring signaler and connection jacks for a variety of neckloops and hands-free headsets for people with significant hearing loss and mobility problems. The beauty of this decision by the CPUC is that they are efficiently using State resources to serve the greatest number of people with a single, low-cost, multi-functional device.
AMERICANS FOR BETTER HEARING FOUNDATION
ABHF is a 501(c)(3) foundation that is a project of the National Heritage Foundation. ABHF has a mission of educating primary care physicians about the importance of periodic testing for hearing loss and educating the general public about assistive equipment and programs for hearing loss that can help people of all ages maintain an active lifestyle through better hearing.
